GHOULUNATICS Calling It Quits

November 28, 2007

Bassist Gary Lyons of the Montreal deathcore act GHOULUNATICS has issued the following update:

"It is with great regret and sadness that I officially inform you that the GHOULUNATICS adventure is coming to an end.

"Our singer, Patrick Mireault (aka Evil S. Presley),recently told us that he didn't have the motivation nor determination to carry on with the band. As you might imagine, this was a great shock to me and the rest of the band.

"After discussing the issue at length with each other we came to the conclusion that we just couldn't carry on without one of the three founding members. Pat helped create the GHOULUNATICS' unique identity and sound though the years and he's a major part of this band as singer and frontman.

"GHOULUNATICS will therefore cross over to the land of the dead after nearly 14 years of existence during which we released five studio albums, one live album and a DVD (the first from a Quebec metal band).

"We will be performing a couple of farewell shows before calling it a day so this will allow fans to come and see us play live for one last time. We hope that all our fans and friends will be joining us for one last time!

"I'd like to take this opportunity to give a final shout out to all promoters and friends (bands) from the province of Quebec who would be interested in booking such a show in their region. Please contact me at [email protected] right now.

"Only one or two dates a month will be available from February to the summer of 2008.

"A 'best-of' CD consisting of our best songs from all 5 studio albums and possibly some other goodies will be our last testament. We hope to include pictures from all different stages of the band as well as our videos, etc. This will be a limited release of 500 copies only. Each copy will be numbered.

"We hope to see you guys in Montreal at our 3rd and last Ghouls X-Mass Party [on December 8]. This might be our last hometown show…"
